Falmouth moved level on points with second placed Bodmin following this one-sided victory over the Marines who remain bottom of the table.
Karl Turner shot Falmouth ahead inside the first minute when he got on the end of a long searching ball in from the right flank and he smashed it home from 8 yards before the visitors defence could react. Town doubled their lead after ten minutes when Dan Green played a good ball out to Joe Lugg on the right and he played a perfect cross which Matt Drummond headed home, unchallenged, from just outside the 6 yard box.
The Marines started to get a bit more possession in a crowded midfield and after 15 minutes Richie Hope made some space along the right flank before putting the ball into the middle where Travis Malkie shot wide with Lee Rundle closing in on him. A few minutes later Dan Green took Mark Vercesi’s pass in his stride and hit a rising shot that Marines keeper, James Satchell, did well to tip over the bar.
Dan Magee, playing in an unaccustomed role of right-back, played a good ball through to Nathan McIntosh who took it on a few paces before laying it into the path of Lugg who let fly from 12 yards, but the keeper was well placed to make the save.
The Marines got a free-kick which resulted in Chris Menhenick heading the ball behind for a corner and the resulting kick saw Mark Hamley head the ball straight at Jason Chapman in the Town goal.

Falmouth went three goals ahead five minutes before half-time when the hard working Joe Lugg cut in from the right, ghosted past two defenders and hit a strong left footed shot from the edge of the area that flew into the net between the keeper and the post.
Falmouth were 4 – 0 ahead after just three minutes of the second half when Drummond played the ball to Lugg and he weaved past a couple of defenders before hitting a low shot from 15 yards past the outstretched hand of the keeper to nestle in the corner of the net. Five minutes later the woodwork deprived the hard working Lugg of a hat-trick when he got on the end of a Dan Green ball in from the left and hit the crossbar from 10 yards.
Matt Drummond got his second, and Town’s fifth, goal on the hour mark when Ian Hodges, who had come on to replace McIntosh a few minutes earlier, played the ball inside to him and he fired home hard and low with the defence looking on. James Satchell came to the Marines rescue twice in a minute when, first he blocked Drummond’s 12 yard shot and then followed that up with a point blank save as Lugg smashed a shot goalwards.
Town’s sixth goal came after 67 minutes. Ian Hodges played the ball out to Jamie Devine on the left and he put over a high looping cross which Raiff Gwinnett failed to intercept and Matt Drummond fired home on the half volley from 8 yards, even though there were two defenders closing in on him, to complete his third hat-trick of the season. Two minutes later it was all over when Hodges played the ball inside to Devine and he shot home through a crowd of players to put seven goals up.
The Marines had a late flurry when Travis Malkie and Sam Logan were both thwarted by Chapman’s quick reactions as he made a couple of good saves to keep a clean sheet.
