Falmouth overcame a very determined and battling Mousehole team who held out until the 76th minute.
Despite having the majority of the play, Town were unable to carve their way through the visiting defence where the Mousehole keeper had an inspired game.
Falmouth started at a fast pace, but after 15 minutes the rhythm seemed to disappear and the visitors crept back into the game.
Neil Slateford had a great game for Town and his pace often took him past defenders and on one occasion he turned into the box before driving his shot across the face of goal.
Danny O'Hagan blasted over from close in after getting on the end of a Slateford cross.
The persistent second half rain made for a greasy surface and the Mousehole keeper had a few let offs as the greasy ball often slipped from his grasp but he was always helped by the resolute defenders.
Just past the hour mark Nigel Thwaites, one of six players who started on the bench hit the bar with a header from close in and a minute later Dave Rawlings saw his shot well saved.
The opening goal came in the 76th minute when ex-Argyle man O'Hagan skipped through the defence and around the keeper to tap the ball home from close range.
Two minutes later and Falmouth had a second. Matt Drummond was on hand to shot home from six yards after the ball rolled loose from a goalmouth scramble.
The result was sealed in the 86th minute when a blasting shot from Richard Wilcox rebounded off the post and O'Hagan beat a defender to the ball as it rolled slowly over the line.
A good start for Falmouth who take on Penzance at Penlee Park on Saturday (3pm).
