Sussex Ouse, Isfield Lock

7th - 8th June 2008

We are back on the Sussex Ouse again over the weekend of the 7th/8th June working at Isfield lock.

Here are the notes from the local organiser re the works for the weekend:

By then we should have demolished the top courses of the East wall to enable your team to commence re-laying the brickwork over the week-end.

There is a tree root still remaining alongside this wall which will need to come out.

If manpower and time allow, we need to cut stop plank recesses into the walls below the bottom gates and so if you have a brick saw available this would be useful. Should we still have spare bodies around, then the stump of a tree felled at your last visit, alongside the top trainer wall could usefully occupy people, although this is not at present of paramount importance.

Accomodation has been arranged at Newick Village Hall, High St, Newick, nr Lewes, East Sussex. BN8 4LG. Grid Ref TQ415215.

Click here for a link to Streemap or here for a detailed local map.

There is plenty of parking but we have been asked to park with cars in a row facing (towards or away from) the back wall and not blocking access to the recycling container.

Roy will be there from 18:30 and if not at the hall will be in the Royal Oak pub which apparently does very good food.

Please let me know if you are intending to join us, email eddie@kescrg.org.uk, leave a message on 0845 226 8589 or text 07850 889 249.

Cheers

Eddie
