John TRENBERTH to Joseph FAULL
This indenture made the 6th day of June in the year of our Lord 1874
between John TRENBERTH of the Town of Grass Valley in the County of Nevada
and State of California party of the first part and JOSEPH FAULL of the
same County and State party of the second party; Witnesseth that the said
part of the first part for an in consideration of the sum of three thousand
dollars in gold coin of the United States to him paid the receipt whereof
is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth
grant bargain sell and convey unto the said party of the second part the
following described tract or parcel of land situated on the South Side of
Main Street in the Town of Grass Valley of the County of Nevada and State
of California and known as Lot No. two in Block No. 25, according to the
maps of the Official Survey of said Town made by G. BETRELL in the year 1872.......
In witness whereof the said party of the first part has hereunto set
his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.

ONEIDA CHIEF GOLD MINING COMPANY
to
William DOWER, ETAL
This agreement entered into this 28th day of April A.D. 1883 between
the Oneida Chief Gold Mining Company party of the first part and William
DOWER, Mrs. M. J. TURNER, J. H. WENWORTH, Thomas H. BENNETT, Charles TRELEAVEN,
John MCAVIN, Thomas WATERS, Michael OHEARN and Joseph FAULL, parties of
the second part, witnesseth that the party of the first part owns and is
now in the full free and undisturbed possession of the SNEATH and CLAY MINE
comprising fifteen hundred feet along the ledge and three hundred feet
of surface ground on each side thereof situation in Gold Flat Mining District,
about one mile south of Nevada City in Nevada County California.
That the aforesaid ONEIDA CHIEF GOLD MINING COMPANY has applied to the
government of the United States for a patent to the said SNEATH AND CLAY
MINE and a notice to that effect has been posted on the aforesaid SNEATH
AND CLAY MINE and is now being published in the Daily Transcript, a newspaper
published in Nevada City, California.
That the above named parties of the second part are in possession of
a certain parts or lots of land enclosed and fenced in which are included
in the survey aforesaid SNEATH AND CLAY claim
---Now, therefore in consideration of one dollar the receipt thereof
is hereby acknowledged and the agreement of the aforesaid parties of the
second part that they will not oppose, or none of them, will in any way
oppose or hinder the said Oneida Chief Gold Mining Company from obtaining
a patent to the said Sneath and Clay Mine nor enter any protest thereto,
the said party of the first party hereby covenants and agrees.....it will
deed to the said parties of the second part their heirs and assigned the
surface ground subject to the following provisions:
First. That the lots of land now claimed by parties of the second
part and which are to be deeded to them by the party of the first part according
to the terms of the foregoing agreement are restricted to the surface ground
alone.....
Second. That the aforesaid party of the first part shall have the
right to erect air shafts on any of the aforesaid lots of land if they deem
it necessary to the proper workings of the mines....
Third. That if the party of the first part shall need for their
use any of the lots of land or parts thereof, the said parties of the second
party hereby agree to sell to the said party of the first part those lots
or parts of lots thus needed for such an amount as shall be reasonable and
fair.
Fourth. That the party of the first part does not claim the houses
trees, any of the personal property of the aforesaid parties of the second
part, and this agreement to bind their heirs and assigns of both parties.
Written in duplicate, signed and sealed this 28th day of April A.D. 1883.
