Before the Interweb, txt msgs and the 21st century, there was:
Electric Slim & the Factory Hen! My first ever band!
The year: 1990. One day in school, me and a couple of the boys vowed that, when our GCSEs were over, we'd buy guitars! learn to play them!
form a band! and play the legendary MCB Easter Rock Concert!
And so, we did.
We roped in more friends to play keyboards and drums. We rehearsed every bloody Saturday for nearly a year (we loved it, of course).
We braved tinnitus and blisters! Subjected each other to ludicrous choices of cover versions!
I even insisted on programming my ZX Spectrum to play extremely rapid synthesizer arpeggios…
Finally, after months searching for a decent singer and toying with being called Well Sussed and/or Jeffrey's Curtain,
we persauded Archie to be our frontman, and assumed our true moniker.
And, when Easter came, we mounted an enormous wooden stage and did our teenage duty… the remaining evidence is now on
