The Q Awards, London UK on 10th Oct 2005. James won the award for Best New Act 2005. He was nominated for three awards: Best New Act, Best Song (You're Beautiful) and Best Album (Back To Bedlam).

BT Digital Music Awards (DMA), London UK on 18th Oct 2005. James won the award for Best Pop Act. He was nominated for three awards: Best Pop Act, Best Single (You're Beautiful) and Artist Of The Year. James was unable to attend the awards ceremony due to his busy UK tour schedule. James performed at the previous years DMA Awards ceremony (in 2004).

MTV Europe Music Awards, Lisbon Portugal on 3rd November 2005. James won the award for Best New Act. He was nominated for three awards: Best New Act, Best Song (You're Beautiful) and Best UK and Ireland Act. James was unable to attend the awards ceremony due to his U.S. tour, but he did send a recorded video message with him accepting the award from actress Mischa Barton.

The NRJ Music Awards, Cannes, France on 21st January 2006. James won the award for Best International Breakthrough of the year (Révélation internationale de l'année). He was nominated for that one category. James attended the ceremony. Apparently, early the next morning a burglar broke into James' hotel room while he was asleep. James awoke and hit the thief with the NRJ award he'd just won causing him to flee.

The BRIT Awards, London, UK on 15th February 2006. James won the awards for Best Pop Act and British Male Solo Artist. He was nominated for five awards: British Male Solo Artist, British album (Back To Bedlam), British single (You're Beautiful), British Breakthrough Act and Best Pop Act. James performed You're Beautiful at the ceremony in front of a large screen video showing a specially made sequel to the original You're Beautiful video. This follow up film shows James plunging into the water and encountering three beautiful water nymths.

Shockwaves NME Awards, London, UK on 24th February 2006. James won the award for Worst Album (Back To Bedlam). He was nominated for that one award.

The ECHO Awards, Berlin, Germany on 12th March 2006. James won the award for Best Newcomer International. He was nominated for two awards: Best Male Artist and Best Newcomer International. James was unable to attend the ceremony but sent a recorded video message with an acceptance speech in German.

MTV Australia Music Awards, Sydney, Australia on 12th April 2006. James won the award for Song Of The Year (You're Beautiful). He was nominated for two awards: Best Male Artist and Song Of The Year. James performed You're Beautiful at the ceremony with the same "water nymths" video shown as at the Brit Awards 2006.

Ivor Novello Awards, London on 25th May 2006. James won the awards for PRS (Performing Right Society) Most Performed Work (You're Beautiful) and International Hit Of The Year (You're Beautiful). He was nominated for those two awards. James attended the ceremony. He joked at the awards: "To all those bastards who don't like my music - you're all adults, you can switch your radio off.".

Much Music Video Awards (MMVA), Toronto, Canada on 16th June 2006. James was nominated for one award: Favourite International Artist but didn't win that category.

Teen Choice Awards, Gibson Amphitheater, California, U.S.A. on 14th August 2006. James won the award for 'choice music male artist'. This is an award awarded by the US broadcast station FOX and elected by teens via the internet. James attended the ceremony.

U.S. MTV Video Music Awards (VMA), New York, U.S.A. on 31st August 2006. James won the awards for Best Male Video and Cinematography (both for You're Beautiful). James was nominated for three awards: Best Male Video, Best New Artist Video and Cinematography (all for You're Beautiful). James attended the ceremony.

He was unable to attended the awards due to his U.S. Fall Tour.

James was nominated for five awards: Record of the Year, Song of the Year (both for You're Beautiful), Best New Artist, Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album (Back To Bedlam) but didn't win any of the categories. James attended the ceremony and performed You're Beautiful dedicating the song to the late Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegun who had died in December 2006.
