McEwan, Steve Songwriter. Co-wrote the song One Of The Brightest Stars with James for his second studio album All The Lost Souls. Steve a guitarist with the band World Party and for Robbie Williams has also written songs for Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney and has co-written songs with many other artists including Carrie Underwood and James Morrison.

Médecins Sans Frontières James is a keen supporter of the Charity Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), otherwise known as 'Doctors Without Borders'. An International humanitarian aid organisation that provides emergency medical assistance to victims of war, I was there for six months and to continually see them working in the middle of nowhere with very little in the form of security, very little in the form of decent living conditions and yet still selflessly, tirelessly helping other people, I was touched every single dayJames Blunt disasters and epidemics in 80 countries around the world. James worked alongside the MSF while in Kosovo in 1999. James introduced charity auctions at his live shows to raise money for the MSF during his world tour in 2006. The highest winning bidder being able to meet and greet James after the show. On 16th November 2006 at the House of Blues, Los Angeles James and the band performed a benefit show in aid of the MSF, with all proceeds going to the organization. In December 2006 it was announced that James had raised a total of $205,000 (£105,100) for the MSF throughout 2006. Between July 18th 2006 to July 18th 2007 James Blunt fans raised a total of £2,013 through MKAF's own sponsor site (www.justgiving.com/monkeykingsfacts).

Melua, Katie British female singer, songwriter. James supported Katie on her UK tour in February/March 2004.

Menzel, Idina American Singer, songwriter. Idina recorded the song Dont Let Me Down which was co-written by James and Peter-John Vettese and features on Idina's album 'I Stand' released on January 29th 2008.

Messageboard, Official James Blunt The messageboard was first added to the James Blunt Website on July 29th 2004. Its initial design reflected the look of James' first studio album Back To Bedlam and was known for its pale green colouring. It spawned many curious and popular topics like 'Does anyone know what James smells like?!!' and 'Is James Blunt Gay?'. On September 17th 2007 a new messageboard was added to the new-look website to coincide with the release of All The Lost Souls and reflected the design of the new album. The old 'Back To Bedlam' messageboard was closed down on 21st September 2007 but was made a viewable only Archive. The messageboard is moderated by Billy.

Monkey King
Monkey King Design which features on artwork for James' debut studio album Back To Bedlam, the Official James Blunt Website, T-Shirts and other merchandise. Also seen on James' guitar strap and the bass drum skin for the band. The intro bass drum is James banging on a sofa, the snare is him slapping his thigh, the whole band are doing the outro vocals, and this is where the Monkey King came fromBilly Origins of the design are unknown, but it has also appeared elsewhere (minus the crown) on the cover of Elvis Costello's single 'Monkey To Man' and on the cover to Gregory Maguire's reprint of his book 'Wicked'. The Monkey King (Sun Wukong) is a popular character from classical Chinese literature. A priest, magician, ruler, sage, and warrior in the shape of a monkey he is the mischievous protagonist of the tale 'Journey To The West'. The 1970's TV show 'Monkey' was based on the story. The reason why James uses the Monkey King was explained by Billy on October 15th 2004 on the Messageboard describing the recording process of the song Out Of My Mind (see quote).

Monkey On My Shoulder EP A five track EP bonus disc only available with the re-released version of Back To Bedlam exclusively sold at Target Stores in the U.S. in May 2006. The Monkey On My Shoulder EP (subtitled 'From The Original Demo Collection') comes in a blue cardboard slip case and contains early demo versions of the songs Cry, High, Sugar Coated, Goodbye My Lover and Butterfly.

Moore, Malcolm Former bass guitarist and backing vocalist in James Blunts band. Joined the band in June 2004 for Glastonbury and the Elton John support tour. Malcolm has worked with a variety of artists and musicians over the years, including Sinead Quinn, Lulu, Darius and Natalie Imbruglia. He was previously in the band The Walnut Dash. Malcolm is credited for playing bass, vocals and strings on James' second studio album All The Lost Souls. Malcolm left the band in December 2007 to concentrate on his own band project 'themillionstars' (see links). He was replaced by new bassist John Garrison.

Morrison, Jim Lead singer and lyricist of the popular American rock band, The Doors. Died in Paris 1971, aged 27. One of the inspirations for James' song So Long Jimmy, which on it's outro pays homage to The Doors song 'Riders On The Storm'.

Mraz, Jason American singer, songwriter. James played support for Jason on his U.S. tour in October/November/December 2005 and in return, Jason played support for James on his UK tour in February 2006.

Myspace, James Blunt Popular community website. Used to promote James and his music. James gave a secret Myspace show in New York on 31st May 2006.

My Triangle Song performed by James (and Telly Monster) on the popular childrens U.S. TV show, Sesame Street. My Triangle is sung to the tune of James' own song You're Beautiful. The show was recorded on 13th November 2006 and was shown during Sesame Street's 38th season on August 31 2007. To see the video click the link.
