]]> Fergusons from Loweswater and St Bees, Cumberland 58 additions have been made largely for the families of John Ferguson born Plumland about 1780, but who raised his family in Loweswater.

A bigger family is that of William Ferguson born in Cumberland in about 1775 and his son, Robert born in St Bees about 1808. Most of Robert's family remained around Whitehaven until 1901.

The site now contains 2363 individuals, of whom some 1677 are named Ferguson, or derivatives (including transcription errors)

]]> Fergusons from Holme Cultram and Lanercost, Cumberland 76 new names added substantially from the above areas, although there have been a some changes following the release of the 1911 census. Of the new names 68 are Fergusons, the others being spouses.

The spouse and children of Mary Coulson has been changed from John, the son of Richard Ferguson born 1796, to John. the son of Feddon Ferguson born 1812, following the discovery of new information

The site now comprises 2305 individuals including 1628 "Ferguson" or similar surnames.

]]> Fergusons from Penrith, Plumbland and Whitehaven 104 new names added substantially from the above areas, although there have been a few additions to the Kendal Fergusons to complete the data from the 1911 census. Of the new names 65 are Fergusons, the others largely being spouses.

The site now comprises 2229 individuals including 1560 "Ferguson" or close surnames.

Revision

Following a recent visit to the Kendal Archives where fresh information was obtained, I realised that two William Fergusons, the grandchildren of Benjamin Ferguson b. 1766 had been transposed. The changes are:

  1. The wife of Benjamin, Jane Craison b. abt 1766 has been added.
  2. William b. 1817 in Sawrey, Lancashire and his family added to the family of Benjamin Ferguson b. 1796.
  3. William b. 1816 in Kendal, Westmorland added to the family of Samuel Ferguson b. abt 1787.
  4. The corresponding Descendant Charts have been amended accordingly.
