Report by Mark Chestney North Ferriby United continued their decent away form with a point at Ossett Town. This came after a horrendous journey to get their due to an accident on the M62. The kick off was delayed until 8-20 p.m. but all credit to United they battled hard and deserved to get the three points on offer. Manager Neil Parsley was pleased with the way his side had performed throughout the game. But as is usually the case with teams in the lower reaches of the division you get very little in the way of luck. “We at least deserved a point from this game especially with the scenario of getting here late,” said Parsley. “You have to wonder what frame of mind the players are going to be in after an extra hour’s travelling. But I have to say we came and rolled our sleeves up but for all to see it’s still not going for us in the opposing box. “On one occasion the ball bounced about in the area and off two of their players and they managed to clear it. One of these days, if we keep on playing the way we are, we’ll smash one in and come away with the three points.” With Paul Foot being injured on Saturday against Ilkeston Parsley decided to utilise him off the bench late in the game. Ben Morley was also on the bench with Alex Davidson. It was a tough encounter with both midfields having to work hard to keep the other at bay. Recent signing Craig Hall worked well alongside Chris Bolder and they got the better of opposite numbers Lee Pugh and Richard Marchant. This was a game with very limited chances as both sides didn’t carve out a great deal. In fact the goalkeepers must have had their quietest night in a long time. The nearest either side got was when Neil Allison was guilty of handling the ball just outside the area. But the centre back made amends by clearing the free kick. Things almost spilled over after 20 minutes when Town defender Marcus Holness went in the book for kicking the ball away. He was the called back to the referee for back chat and warned on his conduct. Halftime came and went with neither side able to break down the others defence. But it was Ferriby who finished the game stronger creating the better chances. On 71 minutes Danny Ryan went down the left and put in a cross for Bradshaw. The striker failed to finish as he did from a Paul Foot header on six minutes from time. Bradshaw then had a golden chance to win the game for his side but he slightly lost his bearings. The ball dropped down to him but he was unable to control it before the defence stepped in to clear. It was a disappointed North Ferriby who trooped off the pitch at the end of this game. They had done enough to take all three points but had to settle for just one.
