Yesterday saw Flic Flac Academy & Gym Club travel down to our good friends at Arabian, Milton Keynes, As ever Alan & Donna and the team, put on a first class event, that was enjoyed by both gymnasts and parents alike. As Alan mentioned in his programme notes, it will be our last visit to Arabian in their present home. A new £20million sports venue next door is now going to be called home. Exciting times ahead I feel...
Individual breakdown will be posted monday evening, i do have a scribbled note but i can't make sense of it, so will sort out for you all, so please come back..
A massive well done to all the ladies, you have done yourselves and the club proud, all those bruises were worth it (janet)....
so now the younger members have something to aim for!
scotland had better watch out, the fossils are on the prowl!
Well Well Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls, for a club that according to one particular source is in trouble!, the first day of our Autumn Invitation went down a storm! (gazeebo last seen being chased by Fiona in the dark, during high winds)
Sunday see's the second and very long day of competition, with clubs from around the county and country attending. So for a club that is expanding, and now has two units on the go, the only way is up. Personally I put it down to a little bit of the green eyed monster!
So for your information here are the scores from the first day of competition!
Pictures and more will be uploaded as soon as we get them!
Sunday is going to be a massive day for both the gymnasts and all the coaches and parents, who make Flic Flac Gym Club what it is, A Success!
Oh! by the way we must give a special mention to, Tottington Lodge No 7537, for their very kind donation. As ever this will be put back into the club for equipment.
This weekend see's the running of the Autumn Invitation Competition, held at Flac Flac Academy.
The event will be a two day event, so there is a lot sorting out to do before the weekend.
Floors to move, beams to move and a thousand and one things to do.
The comp will run Saturday and all day Sunday, with teams from around the North West and further afield, a big mention to our good friends from Arabian, who will shooting up the M6 to join us.
Most of you will know Hansol Kim, I certainly do, calls me Luigi, due to my dodgey tash.
Getting to the more serious point here, Hansol is going to be deported, back to South Korea in the next two weeks unless we try to do something.
Hansol is a 12 year old girl who lives in Leyland, Lancashire. Even tho she has lived here since the age of 3 and attends a main stream high school. She cannot speak, read or write her native language and would be just left without an education. She is also a very accomplished gymnast and currently trains with the BRITISH Espoire squad.
Anybody who can help please get in touch,a petition is doing the rounds, and we need a minimum of 1000 signatures to get the local MP involved.
Meanwhile you can show your support for Hansol via Facebook.
Mandie has chipped her Ulna, whilst doing some bar work, didn't quite get the move right.
As luck would have it she was strapped on, otherwise it could have been far more serious.
In a half cast for a week and then we shall see.
From all at Flic Flac Good Luck Mandie.
ps. Mandie attended training today, in a limited capacity of course!
August's updates are under way, and we have a couple of bits of news for you.
Firstly, recently Flic Flac entered the Chorley Community Club Of The Year 2009, with the results revealed on 31st July at the Lancastrain Suite, Chorley Town Hall.
Flic Flac Gym Club received a Highly Commended mention as one of the runners up.
Secondly Flic Flac received a cheque for £600 from the Making A Difference Locally charity.
Here is an update for you, from the going's on in Malta.
Check out this week's Chorley Guardian for news on how the girls did!
Meanwhile here are some pictures and video from Joan & Jeanette, we are very sorry for the very dodgey singer in the final clip, but it was the best the hotel had!
Malta Squad - Mandie,Chloe,Cath,Beth & Emily
We have two videos for you!
Pictures are here!
Today we were due to do a display at St Agnes Church Eccleston, in aid of Parkinson's Disease.
We arrived early and setup our gear and commenced a general warmup.
All was fine and dandy, with three routines under our belt.
Then the heavens opened, a deluge ensued, dumping what seemed like inches of rain in a matter of minutes. The wind got up to such an extent the marquee decided to take flight. To be saved by several people hanging on for dear life, the legs were gingerly lowered between the gusts. To say people got wet was an understatement of huge proportions.
We do have a few pictures to follow.
All that can be said, "It was a total wash out!"
Til next time

Flic Flac Gymnastics Club was formed in 1999,
and until 2002, trained at Coppull Leisure Centre. We currently
have over 300 members, and cater for children from pre-school, right through to top elite gymnasts. We now have two units in which we train, due to the success of the club, expansion was the obvious option. The additional training space will only lead onto greater and better things, giving the gymnasts even more reason to train hard and compete at their highest level of ability
Photo below of gymnasts and a representative from Leyland Trucks, who kindly donated £500 to the club, which went towards the purchase of a new Foam Vault.
Many Thanks from All @ Flic Flac Gym Club.
