THE DEVILS BEST TOOL

It was announced that the devil was going out of business and would offer all of his best tools for sale to whoever would pay his price.
On the night of the sale they were all attractively displayed, greed, hatred, envy, jealousy, sensuality, deceit, and all other implements of evil that hell alone offers.
Each was marked with it's own price.
Apart from the rest, lay a harmless looking wedge - shaped tool, very much worn.
This tool was priced higher than the rest.
Someone asked the devil what it was. "That's discouragement" was his reply.
Asked why he had priced it so high above the others, the devil said."Because, it is more useful to me than the others.  I can pry open and get inside a mans consciousness with that tool, when I could not get near him with any of the others.  When once inside, I can use him in whatever way suits me best.  It is so worn because I use it with nearly everybody.  It is most valuable to me because very few people know that it belongs to me.
"It hardly need be added that the devils price for 'DISCOURAGEMENT' was so high that it was never sold. He still owns it and is still using it.

THE ROLE OF DEMONS
To the demons a human is primarily food, their aim is the absorption of our will into theirs, the increase of their own selfhood at our expense.
But the obedience which God demands of men is quite a different thing.
One must face the fact that Gods love for men, His service, being perfect freedom, is not mere propaganda but truth.  He really does want to fill the universe with a lot of little replicas of Himself with their own characters- creatures whose life, on its miniature scale will be qualitatively like His own, not because he has absorbed them but because their wills freely conform to His.

Demons want cattle who finally become food.

God wants servants who can finally become sons.

Demons want to suck in,

God wants to give out.  

Demons are empty and want to be filled,  

God is full and flows over.  

The demons aim, is a world in which Satan has drawn out all other beings into himself,
 
God wants a world full of beings united to Him but still distinct.

 The devil wants absolute dominance and power,  

God wants sons and heirs to rule with Jesus.  AMEN
