The oldest known gravestone to bear the surname "Flude" is situated in the churchyard at Dunton Bassett, Leicestershire.

The inscription reads: "Here Lie Intered ye remains of John Flude who died May 24 1750 Aged 31".

This John Flude (1719-1750) was the son of Joseph, grandson of Abraham, g-grandson of Joseph, g-g-grandson of William all of Dunton Bassett, g-g-g-grandson of William Flude (abt 1540-1593) of Monks Kirby, Warwickshire.

This gravestone is for Elizabeth Flude nee Hunt who died in 1755, the wife of Thomas Flude.

It is situated in the churchyard at Willoughby Waterleys, Leicestershire together with four other gravestones marking the burial of all twelve of her children who died either in infancy or before their age of maturity, the last aged 20 years in 1768.

Thomas Flude who died in 1788, was the son of Daniel, grandson of Joseph, g-grandson of William all of Dunton Bassett, g-g-grandson of William Flude (abt 1540-1593) of Monks Kirby, Warwickshire.

This is a joint gravestone for Micah Flude and his wife Mary Flude nee Baum dated 1778 and 1788 respectively and is situated in the churchyard at Peatling Magna, Leicestershire.

Micah Flude, younger brother of Thomas above, was the son of Daniel, grandson of Joseph, g-grandson of William all of Dunton Bassett, g-g-grandson of William Flude (abt 1540-1593) of Monks Kirby, Warwickshire.
