Aims of FOHWL

The Friends of High Wycombe Libraries was established in February 2004 following an initiative by the Wycombe Group
Librarian, Elaine Collier.  Since then, Friends has developed into a vibrant organisation under the leadership of an Executive
    Committee.

    The aims of Friends are:

          -  To promote the status and function of local Library Branches.

          -  To foster and develop skills of a cultural and educational nature amongst members of the community of all ages
              and ethnicity.

          -  To provide input to the Library from the point of view of the whole community.

          -  To provide assistance to the Library in the provision of additional resources.

In furtherance of these Objectives, Friends:

          -  Organise a programme of talks on a wide range of topics designed to interest all sections of the community.

Arrange special events to promote the Libraries and raise funds for Friends, which enables us to provide the
libraries with some financial assistance to acquire additional equipment which would not otherwise be available.

          -  Support the library staff with volunteer helpers, to enable the Libraries to organise a wider range of activities
and promote the use of the Libraries by the community.

The business of Friends is governed by its Constitution.
