Events
The main activity is a
series of monthly talks, held at High Wycombe Library,
on the third Thursday evening, from September
to May.
Details of the forthcoming events
can be viewed by clicking here
or by scrolling down this
page.
In the past, talks have covered
such diverse subjects as "Morse & Me," "Deserts & Dhows,"
"History of the Stagecoach" and "Buying
& Selling Antiques" with all talks being given by people who
are authorities on their particular
subject. Visits have also been made to
the Bucks. Museum Resource Centre, The Stewart Linford Furniture
Factory Museum and the Charles Dickens
Museum. A list of the events held during the past twelve months
can be seen by clicking here.
The Programme Secretary goes to a great deal of trouble to organise
a diverse range of topics so as to
encourage
a cross section of High Wycombe society including minority groups to
attend the meetings and enjoy the talks.
In addition to the regular monthly talks, Friends hold two other
evening events every year. One is the AGM and
the other
is a Quiz Night. We also hold fund-raising, coffee mornings on a
Saturday, from time to time, in the Library.
We are always looking to add other activities to our list so if you
have some ideas and would be willing to help
us organise
them, please contact the Chairman in the first instance.
