Cruising Logs

Douglas Milne owner of ‘Langlands of Whitby’ and Alex Birrell, left Kerrera (Oban) on 15 September 2004 arriving home eight days later at Limekilns after a white knuckle ride around our northerly coastline.

Jimmy Longley, a long serving member of the club has forwarded a copy of his cruising log taken from ’Katy Wran’ - a 20 foot GRP King Shark Sloop.

Two club members desperate for a last sail before crane out venture down river at night with a strong wind warning forecast....

"Trying to steer the boat was like trying to steer a speeding car on black ice. The helm was unresponsive and the boat slithered through the water like some demon serpent." Extract from Ronnie and Fiona's extended 2006 cruise between Kerrera and Bellanoch.

Roger and Alison take Skydancer on a very enjoyable trip through the Forth Clyde canal in April 2007.

Did Stella Maris make to Ireland? What secrets will Jenny reveal about cruising with her Commodore husband? Read on to find out...
