Fantastic views to take in on a good clear day (photo a). Walking is the only real activity here.
For walkers this is moderate. For divers it's easy access here (photo a). But permission is needed .

Places to Stay
Plenty of accommodation can be found in Gosforth village.
Try "Stay.co.uk" or alternatively check some of these links > Hotels and Guest Houses Youth Hostels for Families etc.

How to get here
From the M6, come off at Junction 39. Now looking / heading for the A6. At the junction with the A6 turn right (northerly direction) then within a couple of hundred metres you will come across an unmarked road on the left (Sleddale / Thorney Bank rd) which takes you to Wet Sleddale. Take this road, then carry straight on - do not turn off anywhere, where roads lead off to the right, - ignore and keep to the left (i.e.) may look as if you should turn right! dont! - take the left on every occasion and you'll land at the car park.

For directions on how to get here if you are planning to use the A6 only (not using Motorway), then please check actual dive site description using clickable map below right.

Detailed Information for Divers

Main Attraction
Frogs, Newts and other creatures lurk in this wetland wonderland.

Viewing Freshwater Life
I have the distinct feeling that this reservoir will hold some interesting creatures in it but no one has been in to report.

Dive Planning Help
Permission situation changed back in 2007. Please click link opposite for all the details.

An RSPB reserve around this reservoir which in themselves create restrictions, meaning you will not be allowed to access some areas. There is plenty of access to the shore without endangering our feathered friends.
