Aria SB-JR750 (2nd Series)

1) Xavier Darras who lives near Paris, France, has sent in an invaluable photo of this mysterious model! The details list a bolt-on full-scale neck, a pan control and gold-plated hardware.

The model seems to be very similar to the SB-1200, but the bridge appears to be slightly simpler. As you can see there are three finishes available.

I wondered if the name reflected the price, and Jason Arthur (see below) confirms this : “Names such as SBJR-750 and SB-JR600 DO reflect the price of 75000 Yen and 60000 Yen respectively. The re-issue SB-1000 listed for 100000 Yen. Another example is a IGB-550 Integra bass which originally listed for 55000 Yen in Japan circa 1992.”

SB-JR750 2) Regular contributor Jason Arthur is an avid collector of quality bass guitars, mainly SBs. Photos of his instruments can be seen here.

He reports that the colour codes represent Deep Blue (DBL), Amber Natural (AN) and Dark Cherry Shade (DCS).

Jason sends in these beautifully composed photos of what turns out to be an SB-JR750 in the Amber Natural finish!

SB-JR750 Jason says, “It definitely is not a first generation, but seems similar to the SB1200 you have on your site. But this one is a bolt-on. The body style definitely looks like a re-issue SB while the headstock looks like an older Aria Pro Integra.”
