Eero recalls that in the 80s, SBs were known as “the poor man's Alembic.”
For those who don't know, Alembic make some of the most expensive basses in the world. They are renowned for highly refined electronic circuitry. However in my opinion they are not usually anything like as beautiful as SBs!
Eero says that in the post-Matsumoku era, Aria finally had the courage to adopt Alembic pickups in one of their basses, and you can see them clearly in this photo.
A massive control cavity houses state-of-the-art electronics.
I have left the next two photos large. This great scan shows not only the LTD but also the Japanese market SB-1200.
