Gencon 2005 - Coliseum Clix

®

The third Heroclix event at Gencon 2005 was the Colesium Clix game where no ranged attacks were to be allowed (rules).

The chosen team adorned in lovely Clear Rings were:

The General™ (UN U) 176, Automatic Regenerationfeat 12, Fortitudefeat 25, Joker ™(LE E) 85, Dr. Jermemiah Arkham (LE Bystander) 2

TOTAL 300 points

The idea behind Colesium Clix was certainly very different from a standard game. This saw the game have very few duplicate figures and also made it a lot more interesting and fun than the standard fayre.

Our four player pod errupted immediately into two separate battles of one on one. My Injustice League™ under the team title of "Care In The Community - Its Just Not Working" as they were lead by the good Dr. Arkham on a day release pass.

The team didn't fair too well. After giving Shazam™ a good beating someone ran in for the kill and we were very low on points after the first four player pod completed. Thanks and Kudos to Colin for intercepting the approaching hoard that can here be seen loitering on the rooftop or it would have been even worse. Cheers Col mate!

Get Shazam™! Hang on, whats that behind me?

The second two player pod didn't go too well for me either. After giving Shark Boy (Captain Mako) a good kicking to send him back to the team medic, Lord Recluse and the mighty dumpster smited the General for all he was worth. The lone Joker™ fought on bravely but to no avail. The IL went down fighting and without shame to Ben, one of our American cousins who was a nice bloke. We bow before the might of Lord Recluse!

The General™ fails to regenerate as he dies horribly at the hands of Lord Recluse and the Arachnoids.

The third and final four player pod saw the two man army, who were by now totally out of the control of the Doctor, battle more X-Men™ and some Spider-Friends and a Hulk™/Woverine™ combie that appeared to have an indestructable Hulk™. Nice one Ben - way to play that Hulk™.

Another average performance gave a finish of somewhere between middle and last for the two maniacs with guns in a no range combat game. Still, it was fun!

Ste Date faired somewhat better in this event with his Batman™ Enemy theme team lead by the star player of the Joker™.

The newly appointed leader of the League of Extraodinary Hockey Shirts* not only won through his four player pod and bashed his way to the event finale but took out the alledgedly mightly Dark Phoenix™ with the Joker™.

It appears that he can do no wrong when he attacks Dark Phoenix™, as later in the final of the Wizkids European Venue Challenge, given another round he would have taken the thing out with nothing but Kobra™ Fanatics! HAIL KOBRA™!

Ste D. His Joker killed Dark Phoenix. Damn it, she really is a pussy!
