PIRATES© EVENTS
In an attempt to bring Pirates© to the masses, March 2006 saw the first Pirates© event run at Middlesbrough Gamers Club. This was run as a multi-player event and well well attended with six players (as well as myself), none of which had played in a Pirates© Approved Play Event bfore. |
|
| Y'aarrr time again as
Pirates could be spied of the starboard bow (whatever
that actually means) of the good ship HMS Middlesbrough
Gamers Club. New players joined with old to experience
action and adventure the high seas (as opposed to the low
seas?). The sea took a marble texture effect tonight rather than its usual blue hue as seven hardy souls explored uncharted territories in search of booty and fame. The dread Pirate Knackajack (me) found himself struggling to achieve fame, wealth or glory as Captain Cheesehead and the Cracker Crew entered the fray. Despite his Pirate bandana and hook and beautifully contructed telescope of the finest platic Toys'R'Us had available, Knackajack was blighted with cheesitis on his voyage - he wasn't sea sick, he was cheese sick. Well the multi-player game was won by Carl with more than a little help from his travelling companion's cheesefleet destroying everything in its path ... and it had quite a path. |
|
Is that a ship approaching a wild island filled with treasure I see? Aye, that it be! Well it obviously wasn't one of my ships then was it ... they were all either blown out of the water, rammed or in the middle of nowhere! Bah, Captain Knackajack shall return to exact his revenge, but maybe he will wait until he discovers the Curse of Davy Jones' Locker, then he can set sea monsters on the cheese crew. Avast ye landlubbers, shiver me timbers and set sail to the giant can of sprite at the edge of the world! |
|
| There be quite a crowd
around that island. Could it be that this is where the
Battlestar Galactica CCG demos will take place, or is it
a Heroclix New Guy Night? Apparantly none of the above,
the ships were all just waiting around for the
cheesetastic six masted junk and endless crew to come
along and destroy them all. The little schooner has the right idea ... RUN AWAY! Nowhere to run though, the edge of the world is only a few feet away. Which idiot said the world was round? Oh my god, its coming. Were doomed, doomed I say, doomed! |
|
| Ok, this is just getting ridiculous now ... a giant arm has appeared and is moving us off course. Set sail to Hartlepool and let's hang some hairy Frenchie spies! | |
