"The Ninja did it ... in the Museum ... with the Nunchuku"

10-01-06

Having been defeated in an early 200 point 1/4 map 'event test' game Crimson Duck was itching for revenge and wasn't going to be pulling any punches. Red Skull and co. may have won, but only because the time limit wasn't imposed so Man-bat™ and his Indy© companions claimed a moral vicory at the very least.

Crimson Duck likes his ninja games and to add some spice to them he has created some ninja leaders by repainting a few other characters. This ninja game saw the Hand™ lead by Taskmaster™, Silver Samurai™, Death Demon™ and Arashi for a total of 600 points, take on a 600 point team of Alpha Flight™, suitably enough using the Alpha Flight card as well as Protected (which Mr. Hunt didn't seem to remember about). The ninja clan looked menacing as it spread around the museum making good use of its stealth. Mr Hunt was not going to drawn into a straight dog-fight and he spent a long time skirting the flanks of the ninja looking for weakspots and using Hypersonic speed to create weakspots where there were none. I wouldn't say that turns were slow but I did get time to paint the newly dubbed 'Kryptonian Ninja', still marked by the scars of his slaying of Superman a few weeks earlier, green in between the Huntmeister's lengthy deliberations.

Silver Samurai made a valiant effort to take down Wildheart™ but his regeneration kicked in and he was back to full health not long after. As ninjas began to fall around him Death Demon became angry and forced a forward advance. He appeared to be mystically endowed as two consecutive Alpha Flight™ attacks achieved nothing but critical misses upon him and he then scored an impressive six damage with his Blade taking out the bug-eyed Marina™ for fun. The battle warmed up and more ninja fell, but not without inflicting some pain of their own. Sasquatch thought he was clever by outflanking the ninja who could not hurt his Invulnerable hide. But a surprise push from the black garbed Taskmasker™ had created an opportunity for enhancement and Sasquatche™'s cunning plan lead to his eventual doom at the hands of master Arashi™.

The best laid plans of the ninja were thwarted as time rolled on and the game was decided by a points totalling at a late hour. Once more the mighty ninja had won, though only just on this occassion, and the sepukku option was not required. The mission was however only a partial success as the slimy Northstar™ had escaped the grasping Hand™. Next time Northstar™ you will not be so lucky!
