Mathieson models is a newcomer to the RTR scene, the have started out with a rather neat coal wagon, available in a number of prototype liveries. To quote from their website: The models have NMRA fine wheel profiles, giving smaller flange depth and narrower tread. Modern production techniques will ensure true running and the wagons will be comfortable on most proprietary trackage systems. The limited space between the solebars dictates the use of shorter axles than most other N gauge stock but conversion to 2mm finescale standards will present no problems. Axle length over pinpoints is only 13.7mm - considerably shorter than any other current manufacturer in British N and the width over solebars is only 14mm. That is almost 1.5mm less than any other current representation of wooden stock from any other manufacturer in ready to run or kit form.
At the time of writing there are 12 liveries available for the coal wagon model.
