Each year there is an ever increasing threat of a hosepipe ban.
If you follow these simple tips you can reduce your water usage
and do your bit to stave off a hosepipe ban and save money!
  • Install water butts.
    you can even collect
    water from sheds & greenhouses
  • When using a watering hose.
    use a water timer.
  • When planting new plants or potting or hanging baskets.
    Add some Aqua gel crystals to help irigate.
  • Pot plants.
    use some shingle on top to help retain moisture.
  • Use hosepies early morning or late evening and less water will evaporate.
  • Grey water!
    Use the bath water for your flower beds.
  • A Saoker Hose,will deliver water where its realy needed.
    Combined with a water timer makes this A realy efficent choice.
  • Lawns.
    Don’t cut your lawns too close.
    A height of around
    2-3cm 3/4inch -1 1/4inch) for summer is about right.
    Any shorter and you will be more susceptible to the effects of drought.
