This year, Stephen offered an informal 'Quick Watercolour Sketching from Life' session from 10am until 1pm on Sunday 13th May 2012
"An informal and relaxed morning out-of-doors (weather permitting!), especially for beginners, quickly capturing impressions of skies and beaches. If weather is inclement, we'll work indoors in the Gallery"
Location: Glandore Gallery, Porthloo, St Marys. Cost £15
Additional information: No need to bring anything - all equipment and materials are provided.
Again, to help us improve the session for the future and gain valuable feedback, we asked participants to fill out a simple feedback form and you can find their comments here: ArtScilly 2012 - Feedback Forms
This year we also took lots of photos (with our participants' permission) so you are invited to visit our ArtScilly 2012 Photo Diary to see what wonderful weather we enjoyed for our watercolour session.
This year, the ArtScilly Hub was located in the Tourist Information Centre on the main street in Hugh Town which was a much better and more central location. Visitors passed it on their way to the boats or to the Co-Op to do their shopping so it was both visible and easily accessible. There was also a very large banner advertising ArtScilly 2012 hung across the road outside the TIC.
ArtScilly 2012 began with an 'Opening Event to Meet the Artists' held at Phoenix Craft Workshops from 6pm till 9pm on Saturday 12th May 2012. "Drinks and nibbles will be served during the evening but it will be a very informal gathering and we look forward to meeting you". It offered visitors the chance to meet many of the artists and crafts-people who would be running classes for visitors and locals through the week's programme of events.
