Painted Autumn 2007 near Harold Wilson’s seat by the old mill on Peninnis Head. I was interested in the textures of the rocks and leaves on the wall and the lighthouse in the distance made a good backdrop. I intended this painting to be part of the exhibition in Birmingham Botanical Gardens 2009. But I was approached by the League of Friends St Mary’s Hospital who wanted a picture to commemorate a bequest. The ladies who made the donation wanted a picture of mine showing Peninnis Head, so Bramble Hedge now hangs in the Hospital on St Mary’s.
