This was painted in Spring 2008. I do not normally take commissions. But I was asked to paint somewhere around this view as a surprise wedding anniversary present for a good customer of mine. I settled on this flowering gorse at the side of the road. They say “gorse is in flower when love is in season”, i.e., all year round! It was a comparatively busy spot with the heliport tractor bus convoy passing regularly, but quite often the best views are in the most awkward places.
