"Painted on Halangy Down on a cold but clear afternoon in the Winter of 2008, looking towards Tresco. The Soleil d′Or daffodils are one of the earliest varieties grown commercially on the islands and are still picked, (in bud), for the early export market. This particular clump grew from bulbs discarded, probably from diseased or surplus stock. However they still flower and look nice in the cool light.
