"Painted on mornings in the Summer of 2007 on Porth Hellick Down. In the distance is Giants Castle, an early fortification. My main memory of painting here ,(apart from the wonderful colour of the bouncy heather), was falling over getting off my seat! I couldn′t pull myself up for fear of damaging the picture so ended up with gorse thorns embedded in my palms. I′m told you have to suffer for your art..."
