"I painted these in the Autumn of 2008, which was a good year for these magnificent flowers. They are a welcome splash of colour after the agapanthus and belladonnas. This particular patch was planted by Donald May next to the foot of the steps on the beach path to Harry's Walls. I sat behind them looking accross Thomas Porth, Newfort and Taylor Islands towards Tresco. "
