"I painted this on mornings early Spring 2008, sat next to the monument dedicated to Augustus Smith. (The first Lord Proprietor of the islands). It overlooks Old Town Churchyard, one the less well known gems on St. Marys. There are many beautiful plants growing here and the birds are very tame. I have to carry currants to feed them or I would end up giving them my lunch. I particularly liked the contrast between the big spiky Agave and little soft robin.
