A list of aircraft emergency's at Glasgow from January 2004.
(This is not a full list of accidents)

02/01/09
PH-BDY B737-4 "KLM49J" 2210 Runway 05 146 pax.
The aircraft made an emergencey landing due to a wheel rim being found on the runway at
Amsterdam after this flight took off.The aircraft landed ok and held on the runway while it was
checked by fire crews.After a check it was discovered that the outer left main wheel tyre was flat.
As the aircraft was taxing to the stand the inner left main wheel tyre also burst causing the aircraft
to stop abeam the control tower.PAX were taken off by steps and buses.Taxiway A was closed for
most of the night untill the aircraft was moved to stand 6.

C-GTSK A310 "TSC225" 0950 Taxiway A.
As the aircraft was taxing past the tower flames were seen comming from the left hand engine.
The aircraft held just past hold A3 for the fire crews to check the engine.The aircraft then
taxied down the runway and returned to stand for a check up.

N706TW B757W "DAL107" 1220 Runway 23.
While en route from FRA > JFK the aircraft made a emergency div in due to smoke in the cockpit.
The aircraft landed ok and parked on stand 37.

25/10/08
G-EZKF B737 "EZY11YC" 1750 Runway 23.
When the aircraft started its take off run it aborted it due to a problem with the nose wheel.
The runway was closed for about 40 mins untill the aircraft was towed to stand 6.

N706TW B757W "DAL141" 1300 Runway 23.
While en route from BRU > JFK the aircraft made a emergency div in on 1 engine.
The aircraft landed ok and parked on stand 37.

TF-FIO B757W "ICE502" Runway 23.
While en route from KEF > ??? the aircraft made a emergency div in on 1 engine.
The aircraft landed ok and parked on stand 36.

AP-BEQ A310 "PIA777" Runway 05.
Aircraft made an emergency landing due to not being able to set the wing flats
in the correct position for landing.Aircraft landed ok and taxied to the gate.

TF-FIH B757F "ICE706" Runway 23.
While en route from KEF > EMA the aircraft made a emergency div in with fire in cargo hold.
After landing the aircraft held at link E for inspection by the fire services before parking on stand 6.

ZE969 Tornado "Savage2" Runway 23
Aircraft made an emergency diversion to Glasgow after a bird strike.
The canopy was damaged but the aircraft landed ok.

A6-EBP B777 "UAE26" Link B
The aircraft was lined up for departure on runway 23 but due to landing traffic he was asked
to vacate the runway at Link B. After vacating his right main wheels ended up on the grass due
to the tight turn from Link B onto Taxiway A. The aircraft was finally moved at 2330.

G-SASC BE200 "GMA840" Runway 23 1450 4 pax
While on final for runway 23 the aircraft overshot due to having no '3 greens' for landing.
After holding for 15 minutes the aircraft landed safely.

G-BZFP DHC6 "LOG848" abeam stand 21 1745 9 pax
After landing on runway 09 the aircraft was taxing to stand when the nosewheel leg
failed causing the nose of the aircraft to hit the tarmac.
Taxiway Golf was closed for about 1 hour after which the aircraft was towed to the Loganair hangar.

EI-SLF ATR72 "ABR2LA" Runway 23 2005 2 pax
Aircraft returned to Glasgow 20 minutes after take off due to a rough running engine.
Landed ok at 2019 and taxied to stand.

G-LGNA SF340 "LOG921" Runway 23 0827 14 pax
Aircraft requested a turn back after take off due to a cargo door open warning light.
Landed ok at 0833 and taxied to stand.

G-DAJC B767 "MYT015" Alpha 2 hold 1020 298 pax
The aircraft was holding behind another aircraft at the hold during CAT3 opps.
When this aircraft moved forward to the holding point after the one in front had lined up
a British Airways B737 behind him reported smoke from the wheels.After inspection they found
the brakes on the main wheels had locked. Pax were taken off by rear stairs onto buses.
Aircraft was stuck at hold for 6 hours untill the breaks were released.

The aircraft had a large fuel leak while it was being refueled.

Aircraft diverted back in after a nosie was heard on retraction of the main gear.
Aircraft landed ok.

Aircraft declared an emergency after being struck by lightning.
Landed ok at 1305

Aircraft made an emergency landing to due hydraulic leak on it's port undercarriage.
Aircraft landed ok at 0945 and held of Lnk F then was towed to stand 65.

G-MIDZ A320 "BMA4LN" Runway 23 2300 87 pax
The aircraft overshot on very short finals due to a problem with it's landing gear.
After holding for a short time the aircraft landed safely.
The next day the aircraft departed at 0936 as "BMA9561" on a wheels down ferry flight.

After landing the aircraft was parked on stand when it was hit by a pair of
mobile steps.There was no damage to the aircraft.

G-FISH CE310 "EDC500" Runway 23 0752 2 pax
Just after departing the aircraft declared an emergency due to a bird strike
which cause a hole in one of the aircrafts tip tanks.
The aircraft made a safe landing at 0756.

While inbound the aircraft declared an emergency due to smoke in the cockpit.
The aircraft made a safe landing at 1912.

N14115 B757 COA "COA17" Runway 23 1125
1 hour after take off the aircraft returned to Glasgow on 1 engine and
made a full safe emergency landing.

PH-OFB FK100 KLM "KLM1481" Stand ?? 2035
While parked on stand after landing hydraulic flued leaked onto the brakes
causing them to smoke.

G-OINV BAE146 BAW "BRT641" Runway 23 0800
While the aircraft was on route from Inverness to London the pilot shut down 1 engine
due to a fire warning.After burning off fuel in the GOW hold it landed ok.

G-BZAV RJ100 BAW "BRT2MD" Stand 22 0830
While inbound to Edinburgh the aircraft suffered problems with the wing flaps
and diverted to Glasgow and made a safe landing.

While parked on stand a baggage truck struck a wing fairing while it
was reversing up to the aircrafts baggage hold.
(Baggage truck number was 971666)

While en route from Gatwick to Inverness the aircraft diverted to Glasgow
with several instrument failures.

While the student pilot was on a solo circuit he declared an emergency
due to falling rpm's with the aircraft engine.The flight landed ok.

This aircraft diverted in after dumping fuel to the west of Glasgow due to
smoke in the cockpit.The aircraft landed ok and parked on Stand 7.

Aircraft diverted back in after going radio failure on take-off.

G-GSPN B737 GSM "GSM6149" Stand 29 1345
When the aircraft pulled onto stand to park smoke was noted comming
from an engine but this was found out to be fuel residue burning off.

OK-DGL B737 CSA "CSA684" Stand 27 2300
This aircraft was parked on stand when overfueling of the right wing caused
a large fuel spill under the aircraft.

G-MIDH A321 BMI "BMA1WC" Runway 05 1716
After take off the aircraft declared an emergency due to not being able to raise
the gear up into a locked position.After taking up the hold the aircraft locked the
gear down and then landed ok.

This aircraft declared an emergency with severe iceing problems but when
it reached 6000' in the descent the problem became ok.

Aircraft came into contact with a vehicle while taxing onto the stand.

After landing some smoke was noted comming from the wheels due to
overheating brakes.

After take off the pilot requested a diversion back to the airfield with
an instrument problem in the cockpit.

While in the left hand circuit on runway 23 the aircraft suffered a rough running
engine and made an emergency landing on runway 28 at 2111.

G-JEDP DHC8 BEE "BEE825G" Taxiway A 1855
While the aircraft was passing the control tower the pilot reported smoke in the
cockpit and he turned onto the runway 28 threshold to stop.
After the fire crews had inspected the aircraft it was then towed to stand 8.

While the aircraft was taxing to stand after landing the tower noticed smoke comming
from the wheels.The aircraft held abeam stand 31 and shut down the engines.
After being checked the aircraft was towed to stand 27 by tug.

G-DOCW B737 BAW "BAW2957" Runway 05 0935
After take off the aircraft had a bird strike which resulted in the shutting down
of the right hand engine.The aircraft made an emergency return to Glasgow
and landed safely at 0947 taking the whole runway to stop.

While inbound to Glasgow the aircraft declared an emergency with a burning smell
in the cockpit.The flight then continued to land safely.

G-RJXD EMB145 BMA Stand 31 0410
While parked on stand a fire broke out under the aircraft at the rear.
From outside the aircraft looks to be damaged above the right wing.
The fire was caused by a person climbing over the security fence and lighting
a flamable liquid.Police are treating the accident as wil-full fire raising.
The airport reopened to flights about 0910.

While the aircraft was parked on stand smoke was noted comming
from one of the engines.The outbound flight was then cancelled.

On approach the aircraft could only land with 15 degree of flaps.
The aircraft landed safely and taxied to stand ok.

While inbound the aircraft reported handling problems but landed ok.

This aircraft declared an emergency saying he had hydraulic problems
and wanted to go into the hold to try and sort it out.
At 1048 the aircraft landed safely and shut down it's engines on the runway.
At 1100 the aircraft was towed from the runway to stand 64 with the pax still onboard.

G-LGNF SF340 LOG/BAW Stand 11 1930
When this aircraft was parked on stand a sudden gust of wind blew the aircraft
out of it's chocks causing 1 wing to come into contact with the ground power unit.
As of 15/01/05 the aircraft is in the Loganair hangar awaiting repairs.

After take off the aircraft made an emergency diversion back due to a bird strike
in the right hand engine on climb out which resulted in the engine being shut down.
Aircraft landed ok with no further problems.

This aircraft made a diversion back after take off reporting a burning smell in the cock[pit.
Aircraft landed ok after an ILS approach to land.

After take off the aircraft made an emergency diversion back due to not being
able to raise the gear on climb out.

After take off the aircraft made an emergency diversion back due to a bird strike
in the right hand engine on climb out which resulted in the engine being shut down.
Aircraft landed ok with no further problems.

The aircraft went into the hold for 3 hours to burn off fuel after bursting 1 tyre on
take-off.Aircraft landed ok at 2235 and stopped on runway at Link Echo to take
off the passengers.The aircraft was then towed to stand 8 then to the BAW hangar.
G-SPHU EC135 "UKP51" was in the overhead during the emergency landing.

While on final approach this flight declared an emergency reporting he had
no "3 greens" for landing.The aircraft landed ok with the problem being a faulty light
showing in the in the cockpit.

After take off on a training flight the aircraft declared an emergency after closing down
one engine in flight for a test but could not restart it.
The aircraft landed ok with no further problems.

While sitting on stand the tug driver reported smoke comming from the engines.
