Frequently Asked Questions
HUTCHISON
CONSULTING
What are recovery audit services?
With our experienced specialists and our tailored auditing systems, we identify supplier overpayments resulting from common errors such as incorrect invoices, duplication of payments, missed discounts, overlooked allowances, VAT omissions, excessive logistics charges and many others. Once these overpayments are identified they can be recovered from the relevant parties.

How is Hutchison Consulting compensated for its work?
We operate solely on a contingency basis and receive a percentage of all monies recovered from an audit. IF NO FUNDS ARE RECOVERED, WE RECEIVE NO PAYMENT.

Isn't a routine internal audit sufficient?
We have found through experience that even the most efficient operating personnel and IT systems employed within an organisation are still vulnerable to human error or system limitations. Our audits recover this often neglected shortfall.

Do all types of companies benefit equally from recovery audit services?
The higher the level of transactions within a business the greater the benefit recovery auditing can provide, for the simple reason that the greater the volume of transactions processed the harder it becomes for companies to monitor and control these transactions. Other factors also contribute to the number of errors generated, for example a retailer with multiple suppliers each with different invoice formats and contract arrangements will find it harder to implement effective controls than a retailer with two suppliers both with the same contract arrangements and the same invoice layouts.
