Glenn Povey is a professional lead guitarist, singer/songwriter and a multi talented musician/producer. As a guitarist, his early influences came from rock guitar legends such as Jimmy Page, Alex Lifeson, Gary Moore, Michael Schenker, Angus Young, Jimi Hendrix, Dave Gilmour, Richie Blackmore, and more recent virtuoso guitarists (Van Halen and Yngwie Malmsteen). Combining these influences, he has forged an amazing style, that has to be ‘heard’ to be believed. Glenn has been a member of many bands, including the ‘Figgy Fox’ band, and a Pink Floyd tribute, touring across the UK, supporting the infamous Hawkwind at venues including the Manchester Apollo, Liverpool Empire and London’s Brixton Academy.

He is joined on bass guitar by Justin Smith, who having a keen interest in music from an early age, first picked up the bass aged 13. With a passion for everything from funk and jazz to heavy metal and punk, Justin began to develop his own original sound. Influences by legendary players such as Geezer Butler, Jaco Pastorious, John Paul Jones, Steve Harris and Stuart Hamm. Justin uses a combination of finger style, tapping, harmonics and slap techniques to create his incredibly versatile and individual sound. Justin joined his first band age 15, been involved in many bands, and gigged all over the UK.

On drums is John Kane, who has been in the music scene for almost 25 years. He has played with many bands across the UK, including Big Fish, Spanking Pirates and the Chevrons. His main influence comes from Blues and Classic Rock, which is his first point of reference when he is behind his kit. His passion for music and drumming developed at a very early age and he got his first kit as a present for his 8th birthday. John’s drumming techniques are influenced by the work of Tommy Aldridge, Tommie Lee, Nicko McBrain, Joey Jordison and Carlos Hercules, who he has had the privilege of jamming with in the past.

GP is a new 3-piece original rock band, mainly influenced by Rush, Led Zep and classic rock. The band is now booking live venues to perform and promote the new album ‘Contact’. Two tracks from the album, entered in the UK Songwriting contest, www.songwritingcontest.co.uk, BOTH achieved a semi-final award, from over 6,200 entries. Judged by The BRIT Trust, The Guild of International Songwriters & Composers, The World Music Foundation, The International Song Copyright Agency, independent producers, executives, songwriters and music journalists. The band will also be performing new songs from the next album, to be recorded later this year.
