The rally is on 143 acres of arable land all in one block on a 600 acre farm near the village of Coberley, between Cirencester and Gloucester

Half of of the land will be cultivated in preparation for planting and the other half will be stubble.              The 70 acres of cultivated land has never been detected on and the stubble has only been lightly detected  on and has been cultivated since.

In the neighbourhood there are the sites of two ancient villages and a medieval castle.                                    In October 2003 a Roman Villa with mosaic floor  was  discovered near by. (Time Team may be doing a excavation on the site this year).

Only a few miles away are the Roman Villas of Chedworth, Witcome and Withington  and the               Roman towns of Cirencester (Corinium) and Gloucester (Glevum)

Some interesting finds have been unearthed close by including Roman coins, brooches, buckles,  medieval artefacts and even an Anglo Saxon silver penny of Alfred the Great. Some of these                     may be put on display on the day.

We will be grateful if you will bring along any finds you make at  this rally for recording and if possible to leave them on display until you leave.
