In 1909 Gloucester won the County Cup, winning 11 out of 12 matches.
Defeating Bristol, Cheltenham, Cinderford, Clifton, Lydney and Stroud.
The only defeat was at the hands of Cinderford who won 6-0 at Kingsholm.
Club Captain was Arthur Hudson.

Arthur Hudson scored four tries for England versus France at Parc de Princes in Paris 22 March 1906.

'The Shed' was known as the 'Sixpenny Stand' - the popular enclosure. The area was once an open enclosure before a stand was built there and was known as St Mark's Pavilion.

Three Gloucester players, D.R.Gent, W.Johns, and H.Berry played for England in the first match played at Twickenham, versus Wales, Saturday January 15th 1910.

Alf Wood was capped by England in 1908 and went on to represent Great Britain v Australia at Rugby League in 1914after having joined Oldham R.L.

Phil Vickery, Gloucester's most capped international, became the first Gloucester player to lead England when he captained his country against Argentina, 22 June 2002, when England won 26-18.
