I have been advanced to the Mark Degree – are there any other Degrees open to me?

Being a Mark Master Mason, you are now fully qualified to progress to the next stage of your Masonic education, by submitting an application form to Greenock Royal Arch Chapter.

What happens then?

You will be invited to complete an application form and, subject to a successful ballot, you will be invited along to the Chapter to receive the Degree of Excellent Master, before being exalted to the Royal Arch Degree.  

What are the benefits of becoming a Royal Arch Mason?

At your initiation into Craft Freemasonry you earned the title of Brother. At your exaltation into Royal Arch Masonry you will earn the title of Companion, and this is very appropriate, as throughout the world, Royal Arch Chapters are renowned for companionship and friendship. In addition to this, you will have the privilege of witnessing what is arguably one of the finest ceremonies in Freemasonry. Important as these are, you will receive one further and greater benefit – only the Royal Arch Degree, which for over two hundred years has been known as “The Keystone of Freemasonry” allows you to open the door and tread the discovery path to further Masonic knowledge and mysteries.  

What will be expected of me?

Privileges and benefits are always accompanied by responsibilities - your commitment to Greenock Royal Arch Chapter will be to make every possible effort to attend your Chapter’s nine Regular Meetings.
