PREFACE
M.E.C. William Harvey, in "The Story of the Royal Arch", which was published in 1919, quotes the then Grand Scribe E. of Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Scotland as saying "our Royal Arch Degree is founded upon a story as old as the hills, but as new as every day upon which the sun rises". Later, in the same work, he goes on to describe the Holy Royal Arch Degree as "the
Keystone of Freemasonry"
The truth of these quotations is amply illustrated by the activities of our Companions during the two hundred years of Royal Arch Freemasonry in Greenock. The records of the Chapter show that, over the years, many of our Companions have came to realise that the way to illuminate the Truth
is
to follow that old story, release the Keystone, and dig deep to discover the Circle of Gold. |
