Christ Church & Centre

facilities

We value all members of our local community equally, and aim to provide facilities which are accessible to all.

· Wheelchair access is available to all public ground floor areas in the centre.

· Disabled toilet facilities are provided alongside our refurbished male and female toilets.

· Baby change facilities are provided in the disabled toilet, for the convenience of parents and carers.

· An induction loop system operates in the church / main hall for the benefit of the hard of hearing.

· Tactile and high contrast signs provide direction for those who are blind or partially sighted.

running your community activities in the centre

We are here as a resource for the local community, and want to work in partnership with other service providers or voluntary groups.

If you are interested in running courses, groups or activities in Christ Church Centre, contact the centre manager or the vicar to talk about the possibilities.

In addition to the facilities mentioned above, the centre has:

· a main hall, in which seating can be provided for any size group up to around 200 people.  Public address facilities are available. Access to toilet facilities.

· a lounge area with easy chairs, serving hatch to the kitchen and access to toilet facilities.

· The Chapel - a medium sized carpeted meeting room, ideal for a training class or discussion group.

· Upper room - a smaller meeting room, up stairs from the chapel.

· Two other small offices/meeting rooms are available, and it may be possible to rent these long-term.

· Kitchen - fully equipped kitchen facilities are available.

· rear yard - fully enclosed area suitable for children’s play, or for sitting out.

· Garden - spacious tree-lined lawn area with benches - ideal for relaxing, particularly in the summer months.

· Multimedia Projector, Overhead Projector and screen are also available.

Some of these facilities are already used at different times during the week.  Please talk with us about when we may be able to offer space for your group.  The Centre Manager will be able to discuss hire charges and other questions you may have about using our facilities.  Don’t hesitate to contact us.

Please note that while we welcome all sectors of the community, of all faiths or none, we are a Christian establishment, and therefore are unable to host activities or groups whose purpose is in direct conflict with our beliefs.  Please note also that in general, the consumption of alcohol is not permitted in the centre, nor is smoking.  Any activity involving young people must have an acceptable child protection policy in operation.  Groups will be responsible for their own insurance for their own equipment and for public liability.
