Wedding Music
The organist would be pleased to consider other marches than the most commonly used ones - (the Wagner, and the Mendelssohn marches). For example - Trumpet Voluntary by Clark, Te Deum Prelude by Charpentier, The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, by Handel. Other soloists - singers, musicians, to perform during the signing of the registers, are welcome by arrangement with the Rector.

Wedding Hymns - Some Suggestions
All things bright and beautiful...
And did those feet... (Jerusalem)
For the beauty of the earth...
Lead us, heavenly Father, lead us...
Lord of all hopefulness...
Morning has broken...
Now thank we all our God...
Praise, my soul, the King of heaven...
The King of love my shepherd is...

Flowers
Generally, you will make your own arrangements for flowers; however, it is important to contact our church flower co-coordinator. This is so that she can:- explain what is permissible within the church; ensure there is no conflict of arrangements with the regular Sunday displays; discuss your plans for removal of the displays after the day.

Wedding Procedure
We shall go through the procedure at a rehearsal. However, here are some reminders for the main participants other than the Bride and Groom:-

The Best Man - sits beside the Groom in the front pew. He advances to the chancel steps with the groom on hearing the Bridal March, and stands behind and to one side of him. He presents the rings when called for. He returns to his seat at the close of the second hymn. He comes forward for the signing of the registers with the other members of the wedding party (parents and bridesmaids). During the final Wedding March, the Best Man escorts the Chief Bridesmaid.

The Bride’s Father - escorts the Bride down the aisle, then stands behind and to one side of her. When called to give the Bride away, he presents her right hand to the Minister. He sits down besides his wife at the close of the second hymn.

The Bridesmaids - follow the Bride down the aisle, and remain standing behind the couple throughout the ceremony, (Unless they are very young, in which case they go to sit with their parents). It is the duty of the Chief Bridesmaid to assist the Bride with her veil at the beginning of the ceremony and to hold the Bride’s bouquet during the ceremony.
