A Grandma Review dm_mayan_sanctuary

I think that this is now my favourite HL2 map. The graphics are great and I love the feel of the map, there are enough hiding places and secrets to keep me happy, interesting rooms all over and watch out for the obligatory trap! |
|
The greater capabilities of HL2 have have been used to really good effect in this map. This is a nice place to visit, not all depressing, burnt out and grey like so many of the maps. There are large open spaces, with enough good hiding spots to make it worthwhile using them. |

Colours are used to good effect. Don't you think this feels quite warm and inviting? Well, come on then, Grandma's waiting for you! lol I keep thinking that there is something here I don't know about. I wonder what it is....... |

One of my favourite camping spots! Use of the zoom feature is all important here, but it is quite easy to pick people off of the roof of the Mayan Sanctuary, or the outbuildings. You can even see people standing inside the building or coming from around the side. Be warned. Don't stay too long! |

So where was this screen shot taken from? Hee Hee The water in this fountain is The Water of Life. This central section of the Mayan Sanctuary offers loads of secrets, is great for ambushing and also for camping in. |

|
The beautiful Golden Doors at the back door of the Mayan Sanctuary. Remember to check for people in the towers or on top of the Mayan Sanctuary before you make your run! And don't forget your "go faster" button! |

The images used throughout the map are sensational and give the map loads of character. |

Grandma's Rating: Some really cool effects, combined with different play styles, superbly original textures provides an excellent map! |
