Granny's Child minding

what happens at Granny's house for your children.

Some of my children that are child-minded are with me from 7:00am in the morning so we start off the morning with breakfast (Porridge fruit and toast is a favourite).

After breakfast I’ll listen to the older children’s reading if they haven’t read to their parents the night before or we go through their school home work. The younger children free play.

At 8,45 I take the older children to Higham Infant school, some of the pre-school children to Alpha at Higham and then if it is sunny I stop off at the park with the youngsters.

At 10:00 we do a structured activity like sticking, cutting, play doh etc followed by some free play either inside or out ( I have a large garden).

At 11:00 we sit down together for snack (fruit/biscuits/toast) and maybe listening to children’s music.

At 11:30 we all got collect the children from Alpha and come home for free play. The pre-school children and I chat about any art work they have brought home.

At 12:30 we sit down for lunch, most children bring a packed lunch The children help me clear away their lunch and then free play for a while.

Between 13:00 and 14:00 those that still want to go down for a nap whilst I concentrate on structured activities with the older pre-school children.

At 15:00 we go and collect the older children from Higham Ferrers Infant school and stop by the park to kick a ball around.

At 16:00 we return home to relax and have a snack. The children have free play inside or out and may watch a video.

Between 17:00 and 18:00 some children have a cooked meal depending on whether you want me to cook for them.

Parents tend to collect their children between 16:30 and 19:00.

This is a sample day and will vary in order to ensure the children have variety and different stimuli to develop themselves.
