Out Of London

Avoid coach loads of tourists and strict departure schedules, with Glen as your personal driver and guide you can relax and have more freedom to discover the UK at your own pace. There are many popular destinations within easy reach of London, including Windsor, Oxford, Canterbury, and Cambridge. It is possible to combine two or more places in one day. Popular trips are Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath, Oxford and Stratford, Canterbury and Dover and the Cotswolds. Below is a brief description of some of the more popular destinations. Please also refer to the prices link. If the place or the combination of places you wish to visit is not listed, for example, Warwick Castle, Leeds Castle, Blenheim Palace and numerous gardens, please contact Glen and he can arrange a tour to suit your needs.

Windsor

Windsor Castle is the favourite home of Queen Elizabeth II. It has been used as a royal residence for almost 900 years. Most of the castle is open to the public and you can see the changing of the guard, St George's Chapel, the final resting place of many monarchs and, in the State Apartments, view works of art by Holbein, Van Dyck and Rubens. The town is situated by the River Thames and it is a pleasant walk to Eton on the opposite side of the river. Combine a visit to Windsor with a trip to Stonehenge, Oxford or Bath

Bath

Britain's only natural hot spring has attracted people to the area for over 2000 years. The Roman Baths must not be missed and you too can relax in the bath spa . The 18th century architecture blends in perfectly with the surrounding hills. Visit Bath Abbey, the site of the coronation of the first King of England and if the weather is fine, have a picnic by the canal. We recommend that you combine a trip to Bath with trip to Stonehenge.

Oxford

The oldest University in the English speaking world, it comprises of 39 colleges. The first college started in the 12th century and many of the traditions remain. You can visit many of the colleges with some buildings dating to the 15th Century. Also see the setting for Hogwarts School, Inspector Morse and where Tolkein lived and worked. You can combine a visit to Oxford with a trip to Stratford, Blenheim Palace, Waddesdon Manor, The Cotswolds or Warwick Castle.

Shakespear's Birthplace

Stratford-upon-Avon

The birthplace of William Shakespeare who wrote 37 plays including Macbeth, Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet. Visit Shakespeare's birthplace and his grave at Holy Trinity Church. Stratford itself is a beautiful town with many buildings dating from 16th Century including Ann Hathaway's house.

Stonehenge

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Stonehenge is the most important pre-historic monument in the UK. The site started to be developed 5000 years ago, eventually leading to the erection of a stone circle incoporating stones of upto 40 tonnes. The circle has connections with the movement of the moon sun but still many questions remain unanswered.

A definitive Beatles Tour. The London part of the tour includes Apple Corps HQ where the Beatles performed live together for the last time, EMI studios at Abbey Road, where John & Yoko lived, where Paul & Linda met.
