Choosing a Valeter
Choosing a valeter: When choosing a valeter, there are a few things you should check before making your decision:
Is the valeter competent? Many car wash and valeting sites use young or inexperienced valeters to keep the wages down. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, we all have to learn somewhere but how can you be sure of a good service if you don't always get the same valeter?
Do they have insurance? Some companies will have insurance to drive your car, some won't - Check before you hand
over the keys! It is not a legal requirement but it is good business practice for any tradesman to have public liability insurance to cover them if you slip or trip over on their equipment etc.
Am I getting the same service? Many valeters use the terms "Full Valet", "Gold Valet" or "Premium Valet" and can charge anywhere from £20 to over £100 for what seems like the same thing. This is because one version of a valet can be very different from another. Don't be afraid to ask what work is involved in the valet, which areas of the vehicle it covers and what will be used to do the job.
What if I'm not satisfied with the valet? Most reputable companies will re-valet any areas that you aren't satisfied with at no extra cost or offer some form of compensation in the form of a refund or voucher.
