Carbon Footprint

 

    In an effort to become more carbon neutral, Glenn Valet has decided to stop the use of generators in favour of a mains electrical supply. This is due to the enormous damage that these small petrol engines do to the environment. Unlike your car, generators, lawnmowers and such like do not have such strict emissions laws governing their use and can cause up to 100 times the harmful CO₂ that modern cars produce.

    Glenn Valet uses inverter technology. This converts 12v dc power from a large battery which is charged whilst driving, into 240v ac power for use when no electrical outlet is available.

    Although this is not a perfect solution, we feel that at present it is the best option available to us as mains power is usually available at homes and businesses and is generated in a much more environmentally friendly way than is possible with a generator.
