Marriages - On Thursday last, at Halifax Mr William Turney of Wood St., London to Miss Bates daughter of Thomas Bates of Halifax.
From The Times Newspaper - April 1802
Died on Tuesday last at her house in Stockwell row after a lingering illness, Mrs Turney, widow of the late Mr William Turney of Wood Street.

In Memory of Thomas Bates, Woolstapler of this town who died on the 13th day of June 1817 aged 77.
Also of Elizabeth, the wife of the above Thomas Bates who died on the 16th May 1798 aged 66.
Also of John their son who died on the 30th of May 1768 aged 18 months.
(Parish Register states John Turney son of Thomas Bates of Halifax buried 1st June 1768)
Also of Elizabeth their daughter who died on the 7th August 1783 aged 12 years.
Also Henry their son who died on the 6th September 1784 aged 11 years.
Also Judith daughter of the above Thomas Bates and wife of William Turney Esq. of London who died on the 20th April 1802 aged 33 whose remains were interred at Streatham in Surrey.
