Notes for: WALTER HOLDSWORTH J.P.

Walter Holdsworth, eldest son of George Holdsworth was born at Stoney Royd, Halifax on 23rd January 1851. In May 1882 he married Emily Atkinson, daughter of J.W. Atkinson of St. John's Ilkley. He was a Justice of the Peace for the West Riding, and Captain in the 2nd West Riding Yeo.Cavalry. He resided at Spring Hall. He died the 22nd November 1885 and was interred in the family mausoleum at All Saints Salterhebble, Halifax. In his will, he left a sum towards the choir and music in the Halifax Parish Church.
