The Hanwell Community Observatory

Aim: The Hanwell Community Observatory will provide a permanent and well equipped outdoor astronomical facility on a dedicated site for the benefit of the local community, members of evening class groups, school parties and amateur astronomers both locally and nationally. The core fundamental aims are:

  • The Public and Educational promotion of Astronomy

  • The founding of a Research School of Amateur Astronomy to pursue long-terms programs of high quality research in special topics, either observational or theoretical.
