M 36 : Open Cluster An attractive medium-large, bright cluster. Around 50 stars appear in a pentagram shaped formation. Fairly loose. A good target. |

IC 410 : Emission Nebula Only visible with use of a filter (in this case OIII). A soft diffuse glow visible around the brighter stars of the open cluster NGC1893. Very nice. This was a surpise find as most nebulae of this size as too faint to see visually. |

1931 : Emission Nebula Curious object. Marked on the chart as a cluster but is actually a very bright nebula surrounding a triple star. At x40 it appears as a tiny fuzzy patch, bumping up the power to x200 it still remains a tiny fuzzy patch of nebulosity but I can just make out the stars in the center. Well worth a look. |

M 38 : Open Cluster |
Nice bright, typical Messier cluster. In appearance this lies somewhere between M37 and M36. A quite tight collection ofaround 100+ stars. Very nice. The cluster NGC1907 lies on the southern edge. |
M 37 : Open Cluster |
A large, very bright cluster presents a wonderful sight, 120+ stars embedded in the soft blue glow of many more stars too faint to resolve cleanly. Loose around the edges, but very tight towards the middle. At x126 the dark lanes which criss-cross the center are very prominent. |
1893 : Open Cluster |
A fairly loose structure, not too bad to look at. Lies in the nebula IC410 - but you will need a filter to see this. |
1907 : Open Cluster |
A very small fuzzy patch. Lies on the edge of M38. Stars just about resolved at x40, looks very nice at higher powers. |
Basel 4 : Open Cluster |
Quite small and very faint. Can just about resolve stars at x40, at x126 about 8 stars easily visible of around mag11.5 to 12.5 with hints many more fainter stars. |
