2372 : Planetary Nebula

Despite being listed as being magnitude 13 I can find easily without a filter on a transparent night. At high powers, and especially with an OIII filter, the dark lane between the two lobes is very apparent. The lobes have seperate NGC numbers, the brighter is NGC2372, the fainter is NGC2371.

M35 : Open Cluster.

One of the best open clusters. Big and bright with many stars easily resolved. A real showpiece.

Cr 89 : Open Cluster.

A very large, loose association of bright stars. Really needs very low power or bins to make the best of it.

IC 2157 : Open Cluster.

Close to M35 this little cluster is small and very faint with a quite loose structure. Really needs a moonless night to stand out well.

2175 : Open Cluster.

Very, very faint. Slightly fuzzy in appearance due to lots and lots of faint stars. Quite large, fairly loose. Quite nice on a moonless night.

2129 : Open Cluster.

A relatively uninspiring bundle of faint stars around a brightish double.

2331 : Open Cluster.

Faint, very large and realatively loose in appearance. Benefits from a clear, moonless night.

2392 : Planetary Nebula.

The Eskimo Nebula. A nice, easy, bright fuzzy ball. Often appears a distinct blue colour. The OIII filter really works wonders on this nebula. One of the best planetaries.
