Leo Minor

[ Finder Chart ]

3344 : Galaxy.

Very, very faint. A small diffuse glow, not easy due to close proximity to a brightish foreground star.

3414 : Galaxy.

The brightest galaxy in Leo Minor, yet still very faint. Appears slightly elongated. Looked better at higher powers.

3504 : Galaxy.

From my observations the second brightest galaxy in Leo Minor. A faint misty smudge. Appears best at high power with averted vision.

3486 : Galaxy.

Extremely faint object. Barely visible even with averted vision, hazy skies don't help either but with patience this galaxy is visible.

3245 : Galaxy.

View was spoiled by increasing cloud. A tiny, faint spot of fuzz to lower left of brightish star.

2859 : Galaxy.

Very, very faint. Visible as a faint, misty glimmer. Not easy.

2683 : Galaxy.

This object is actually in Lynx but I've included it here as it is the only bright galaxy of note in Lynx and it is only a very short distance from NGC 2859. Quite bright, very elongated (edge on spiral), gradually brighter towards the middle. A nice object on a clear haze free night. Possibilty of a dust lane visible, but I need to get a look under better conditions.
